Senior Technical Business Analyst
Senior Technical Business Analyst
- A seasoned Senior Technical Business Analyst with strong technical, business and consulting skills
Synapsewerx is seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst with the unique blend of expertise combining technical knowledge, business understanding and consulting pedigree. You are someone who has bridged the gap between business and technology for over 15 years. You don't just gather requirements, you understand the underlying technical architecture, from SQL databases to Cloud platforms, and can align business goals with technical realities. You can manage stakeholders and process design combined with a hands-on technical toolkit in SQL, Python, and Data Analytics.
This is a practitioner role for someone who thrives in large, complex enterprise environments and can move seamlessly from a high-level workshop to a deep-dive data mapping session. At Synapsewerx, we don’t just gather requirements; we design, build, and deliver solutions that are technically sound and commercially pragmatic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Bridge the Gap: Translate complex technical ideas into everyday language for executive stakeholders while producing detailed requirements and designs for engineering teams.
- Data-Driven Discovery: Don't just ask "what do you need?", dive into the data! Perform deep-dive analysis using tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, Power BI and AI to validate business logic, identify data gaps, and ensure integrity across complex migrations.
- Modern Agile Leadership: Lead high-velocity delivery squads (Scrum/SAFe). Manage backlogs, drive releases and ensure the pace of delivery matches the business's strategic goals.
- Process Engineering: Re-engineer business workflows, moving from legacy "As-Is" states to optimised "To-Be" processes.
- Technical Design & Discovery: Lead functional and technical design workshops to define system interfaces, data dictionaries, and API integration requirements.
- Quality & Validation: Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate user experiences to ensure technical builds meet the business requirements.
- Architectural Synthesis: Act as the primary bridge between Enterprise/Domain Architects, Engineering teams, and Business Stakeholders. You will ensure functional requirements align with design patterns, ensuring solutions are scalable and architecturally sound.
- Strategic Alignment: Partner with senior leadership to ensure solutions are aligned with organisational strategy and long-term business value.
- Vendor & Ecosystem Management: Liaise with vendors and service providers to stay ahead of roadmap changes, ensuring internal solutions remain compatible with external product evolutions.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 15+ years in IT/Consulting, with a background in Tier-1 environments and a track record of delivering high-value projects.
- Advanced Technical Toolkit: Proficiency in SQL, Python and AI. You must be comfortable querying databases and using modern tools to drive discovery and decision-making.
- Systems Agnostic Practitioner: A proven ability to pivot rapidly across different industries and tech stacks. You aren't tied to one specific platform; you have an appreciation for all types of systems and can identify the universal patterns that make them work.
- High Learning Velocity: You are a naturally curious fast learner who thrives on deconstructing and understanding any new system presented to you. You have the ability to absorb new information and system logic rapidly, turning ambiguity into clarity.
- Communication & Facilitation: A seasoned ability to lead complex workshops, navigate competing priorities, and reach consensus on functional direction with both technical and non-technical audiences.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Architectural Curiosity: You have a genuine passion for understanding how systems work under the hood.
- Consultative Mindset: You are comfortable navigating political landscape of large-scale transformations and can hold your own with both developers and C-suite executives.
- Pragmatic Problem-Solver: You balance technical rigour with commercial awareness, ensuring solutions are buildable and meet the business requirement.
QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Tertiary Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline is required.
- Desirable Certifications: While not required, professional certifications in the following are highly regarded:
- Technical: SQL, Python, AI/ML, or Cloud Fundamentals (Azure/AWS/GCP).
- Methodology: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe, Prince2, or PMP.
- Business Analysis: IIBA (CBAP) or ISEB Business Analysis Essentials.
